The miraculous staircase

Hi, folks. This is my entry for this week Three Muses Challenge: Stairs.

When the Loretto Chapel, in Santa Fe - New Mexico, was completed in 1878, there was no way to access the choir loft twenty-two feet above. Legend says that the Sisters of the Chapel made a novena to St. Joseph. On the ninth and final day of prayer, a man appeared at the Chapel with a donkey and a toolbox looking for work. Months later, the elegant circular staircase was completed, and the carpenter disappeared without pay or thanks. Some concluded that he was St. Joseph himself, having come in answer to the sisters' prayers. The stairway's carpenter, whoever he was, built a magnificent structure. The staircase has two 360 degree turns and no visible means of support. Also, it is said that it was built without nails—only wooden pegs.

Something to retire to...

- Hey, handsome! Are you going to paint me too?
Billizetti received us for a delicious retirement mad tea party, unfortunately most of us forgot to bring a gift, what made him very disgusted. To redeem myself I made this digital collage in his honor. I am very optimistic about Bill's retirement, because he has something to retire to: his ART.
This picture also apply to this week Take a Word Challenge: BEACH.

Painter palette and hat were googled, everything else by Beth Rimmer. Quote by Harry Emerson Fosdick.

Flower Muse

I've done this for Digitalmania at Flickr, but as it pictures a butterfly (amongst other stuff) I think it applies to TAW too.

Background and some flowers by WaterLO Project; Butterfly:Dover; Muse: silent movie star Maude Fealy; quote by Hans Christian Andersen; some flowers are my pictures.

Spider woman

Hi, after some tough days, I'm back. The theme at "Take a Word" is INSECTS and as I'm not a fan of bugs, flies and cockroaches, I chose spiders even if they are not insects. If you are aracnophobic, sorry...
My spider woman is Sonia Braga, brazilian actress, in Hector Babenco's movie The Kiss of The Spider Woman. All spiders and the spider web were photographed by me.

About books

Some say that many English speakers don't like Jules Verne because of the quality of some translations of his books. I don't know, if so, it is a pity. This week the challenge at Three Muses is the written word, I decided then to bring an inspiring quote from Steampunk's father I consider appropriate for the theme. Hope you like it.

Background and most of the elements by Finecrafted Design, I found the books at Steampunk Scholar Bogspot.
